Dear Senator Collins,
I appreciate your efforts to help scale back the ICE presence in Maine. The administration keeps pushing policies that exceed its constitutional and moral authority, break the rule of law, and cause massive division and distrust of the government and its very legitimacy. It then tries to turn its excesses and lawlessness around to the citizenry, as if we are inciting it.
I appreciate that you have a working relationship with Secretary Noem, but it is so clear (as it was to many of us before she was approved for her role) that her loyalties are not to the rule of law, not to truth and transparency, but to the strict allegiance to President Trump above all else. Having watched her in El Salvador, in Minneapolis and listening to her press remarks and open lies and distortions, you must not wait any longer but urge her dismissal or impeachment.
The administration has filled so many top cabinet and government positions with strict loyalists that we face imminent danger as a society if they cannot be reined in and forced to respect the constitution and our societal norms or be impeached.
Noem must be fired or impeached and removed from office.
