There’s a kingfisher sitting on the ‘lectric wire
There’s a shimmer of gold o’er the bay
There’s a lull in the breeze, a shift in the tide
Something’s gonna happen today
Ominous clouds slung low in the west
A constant tension and doubt
Drought’s stressed the land, withered and tired
Something’s trying to get out
Maybe we’ve taken for granted
Our magical time on this earth
We’ve got to stand with each other
Our shoulders to the wheel
And push for all that we’re worth
A migration of dragonflies spark in the yard
Flying creatures are all on the move
People, too, are leaving their home
Famine and war – so much to lose
Politicians scramble with their old sleight of hand
To keep us from seeing our plight
The rich get richer, the rest of us not
It’s time to set some things right
